Philip has fly fished for over 30 years on the Australian mainland, Tasmania, New Zealand, Canada, USA and the United Kingdom. He is a former guide in Tasmania where he specialised in wilderness fishing for wild brown trout.
As an accomplished fly tier (he is the originator of the ‘Aussie Muddler’, ‘The Kite’ and many other successful patterns) he has become hooked on the traditional fly patterns made famous by the North Country School of fly fishermen during the 19th century.
A former management business strategy consultant (his specialisation was the design of processes to deliver on both strategic solutions but to exceed customer expectation), Philip was the inaugural President of the Australian Trout Foundation, a past president of the Victorian Fly Fishers Association and Council of Fly Fishers in Australia. He represented trout fishermen on a Victorian Government Working Body to overhaul the management of recreational angling and the formation of a new Peak Body. He has received various awards for his services to both fly fishing and recreational angling while living in Victoria.
Philip is also a prolific writer of fly fishing articles and is an Approved REFFIS guide and a THOMAS AND THOMAS Pro Guide. He is a member of the Salmon & Trout Association, the Grayling Society, the Fly Dressers Guild and the UK representative for Fly Fishing Masters (an Italian casting organisation)
He is dedicated to ensuring you have a wonderful experience during our guiding sessions

Rob has been fly fishing on the Yorkshire Dales for over 30 years, as well as travelling to and fishing some of the worlds prime fly fishing destinations, including the blue ribbon waters of the America West, the catskills and Alaska. He has also fished in destinations as diverse at Australia, New Zealand and Patagonia.
Rob is a noted fly dresser and has been tying his own flies from the age of 12. He was a prolific pro fly tier for over 10 years. He still revels in the thrill of fishing his favourite North Country patterns on the same beats as fished by Pritt, Emdonds, Lee and many other great fishermen and fly tiers of the past.
Rob is a local Salmon & Trout Association Riverfly Monitor for Yorkshire and is regularly undertaking invertebrate sampling for many of the regions angling clubs and associations. Besides fly fishing, Rob is passionate about the protection of the Dales Rivers and Countryside. He is a member of the Salmon & Trout Association, Wild Trout Trust, Grayling Society, Anglers Trust and Countryside Alliance.
Rob is committed to ensuring your time on the river is enjoyably spent and to provide you with a platform to increase your enjoyment of this great sport amidst the beautiful Dales countryside.
